Need a Thanksgiving Escape? Here’s Where You Can Get Away!

If you’re heading home for the holidays but will get your fill of family before the weekend is over, here are a few last-minute trips you can take for a Thanksgiving escape!

If you’re in New England…

Get out of Boston by going to Portland, Maine, and then hop on a different kind of bus – the Maine Brew Bus! With tours the whole weekend after Thanksgiving, you can spend your holiday time visiting breweries, distilleries and more. Now that’s better than being stuck in line at the mall!

For less than $30, you can get from Boston to Portland, ME and back!

If you’re on the East Coast…

If your actual family is driving you crazy, visit the City of Brotherly Love instead! At the Reading Terminal Marke, you can continue your holiday feast with Philly food while you watch 17 lines of tiny trains zip around the 500 square-foot miniature Holiday Railroad.

You can still find a roundtrip ticket from New York to Philadelphia for around $20!

If you’re in Southern California…

Head south from Los Angeles to San Diego to soothe your Thanksgiving stress along the coast! A unique way to appreciate the water is to go Skating by the Sea at the Hotel del Coronado, where you can lace up ice skates by the beach and glide around the rink right at the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

For just $30 roundtrip, you can head down the coast from Los Angeles to San Diego and relax!

If you’re in the Midwest…

Can’t handle Black Friday? What if Black Friday came with craft beer? Get out of the crowds shopping on the Magnificent Mile and make your way to Milwaukee! The Harley-Davidson Museum hosts a Black Friday Beerfest with a bunch of Midwestern breweries. Cheers!

Make the quick jaunt to Milwaukee from Chicago for under $17 roundtrip!

If you’re in the Pacific Northwest…

Completely leave Thanksgiving behind by leaving the country! It just takes a few hours to get from Seattle to Vancouver, British Columbia, and since Canadians celebrate Thanksgiving in October, you can simply explore Vancouver without any holiday drama. Spend your whole weekend in Stanley Park, or explore different neighborhoods and the amazing craft beer scene.

Just $50 can get you a roundtrip ticket out of the country to Vancouver from Seattle!

If you need to get out of town to avoid Thanksgiving drama, it’s not too late! Just search Wanderu and book your escape!
