Amtrak

Pros: Good value, interesting scenery. Cons: Amtrak does a great job with what it can control. Some of the urban scenery is unappetizing Ie. junk yards, graffiti, homeless encampments. It's unfortunate but American cities are sort of an eyesore from the perspective of rail travel. Tips: Amtrak is an interesting way to see the USA. The rural routes are a visual treat. The urban routes are sort of depressing.
