Situated halfway between Düsseldorf and the Dutch border in the west of Germany, Mönchengladbach is best known for its football team and the famous Borussia-Park stadium where the team plays. Although Heidelberg does not have an airport, the Mannheim Airport is under 15km away, and it's easy to take a train from Mannheim to Heidelberg.
