Located in the region of Basilicata, the small city of Matera is often overlooked by travellers. Matera's rocky landscape made it difficult to build a traditional city throughout its history. Traveling to Pisa is straightforward. Coach services from companies like Marino and FlixBus provide affordable ground transport from cities like Florence, Rome, and Milan, among other cities. Pisa Centrale is the primary train station in the city, and the city's Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport welcomes many national and international flights.
