New Carrollton
New Carrollton is a small town in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, located about 13 miles northeast of the nation's capital. Much of the city is residential, with services typical for a suburb, including a shopping mall, grocery stores, several restaurants, and so on. A true hidden gem in the area is Greenbelt Park, a forested park with 172 campsites and nine miles of trails perfect for an escape to nature.

The Northeast Regional departing from D.C. makes its first stop in New Carrollton before continuing on to Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston. The Winston-Salem Transportation Center is on the corner of 5th Street & Trade Street, smack in the middle of the city.
