Pros: My husband and I could sit back and relax, and view the scenery. Cons: The toilet 🚻 was to far away, my husband walks with a cane and could not manage to get down and up the stairs as we sat upstairs coach 13, and the far back seats. Tips: Yes, relax and take the Amtrak Coach Starlight.

Pros: I loved the idea of the train, I HD never been on one. However, for me and my medical conditions it was a bit long. Cons: I have no idea what could be improved as it wasn't the train, it was me. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

Timely arrival. The train didn't arrive at the station on time due to conditions beyond their control BUT it did make the Seattle journeying the time amount it predicted The passengers at the Portland were not kept awake of the delay during our 2.5 hour wait time.

Pros: It was quick. Cons: Never seat people on a car where air conditioner is broken when it is 100 degrees out traveling to Seattle. We now have one person in our group with covid. Tips: Make sure car tour on everything is working.

Pros: Scenery, relaxing travel. Cons: Seat comfort, enforced quiet time 10:00pm - 7:00am, more fresh air time at depot stops, cheaper alternatives to coach travel (our trip was 40 hours). Tips: Pack your food and drink.

Pros: It was great to be able to sit in the observation car on the train. Cons: I was a bit confused by the word ‘coach’ on my booking, so I had thought it was a bus and not a train that I was getting. Happy to find out it was in fact a train. Tips: Wanderu seems pretty easy to use and the price of the train from Seattle to Portland was better than I had expected.

Pros: The staff at Union station very friendly and helpful, boarding was easy, train clean and travel picturesque. Kept you updated that connections were running late. Checked baggage feature is very helpful. Cons: When booking to San Francisco, the choices are to Emeryville, but nowhere does it say, you must purchase an additional ticket for the Amtrak bus to the Bay area. Very disconcerting to have the driver tell you, you can't board the bus because you don't have a ticket. It isn't even offered on the site and the Amtrak main office is closed after hours. The driver sent us there - didn't he know it was closed? In the end, the driver let us board the bus to Mission St. Unneeded stress. Don't assume travelers know. Tips: Anyone traveling to San Francisco Bay area - please enquire about how you get across the Bay and be prepared to call Uber or get a taxi to your hotel if you're unable to take the Amtrak connecting bus.

Pros: It was a beautiful train ride and much more pleasant that driving would have been. It was easy to get to and the station location of the in Santa Barbara allows easy walking to both the beach and State street. Cons: As with everywhere these days, there were minimal Covid measures. Being assigned a seat directly next to someone else while there were still plenty of open seats was mildly annoying. Tips: Say hello to your train conductor! They are very friendly.
