Pros: Once on the bus, everything went so smoothly! Cons: It was hard to figure out where to print our tickets, and whether or not we had to print our tickets. We arrived early to figure it out, but nearly missed our bus bc things weren’t always clear. Also, the charging ports on the bus were all broken. Tips: Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of disease!

I took a bus from Port Authority, New York City to Ithaca, NY. The bus was on time leaving and arriving. I even slept most of the way. No muss, no fuss.

Pros: I liked that there were a decent amount of empty seats for people to sleep. Cons: The outlets weren't working. Tips: Don't buy tickets last minute.

ShortLine Coach Guide & FAQs

Do ShortLine coaches have WiFi?

No, unfortunately ShortLine does not offer WiFi aboard its coaches at this time. However, we find that a good book makes the time fly by and streaming services like Netflix allow you download TV shows and movies that you can then watch during your trip. Plan ahead and you will stay entertained during the entire coach ride.

Are there power points or USB points on the coach?

ShortLine does not offer power points on their coaches at this time. We suggest you charge up your laptop ahead of time and bring a power bank for your phone to extend its battery life for the duration of the trip. And remember - a good book doesn’t require any power.

What is ShortLine's schedule?

On a typical day, ShortLine has 7 scheduled coach trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Can you pick up will call tickets at the station?

No, ShortLine does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station.

Do you need an ID to get on the coach?

No, ShortLine does not require an ID to board its coaches at this time. Of course, it is always a good idea to carry a government-issued ID whenever you hit the road.

What are ShortLine’s COVID-19 policies?

Visit our COVID-19 Travel Guide to view the most up-to-date information about ShortLine’s cleaning protocols and adjusted ticket change policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Are there toilets on ShortLine coaches?

No, there are no bathrooms available on ShortLine coaches. Though there are no bathrooms onboard, typically breaks are scheduled in the itinerary to allow passengers to use bathroom facilities along the way.

Are meals or drinks offered during the trip?

ShortLine does not offer meals or beverages onboard. We recommend you bring a drink and some snacks for your trip. We also suggest packing a reusable water bottle with you to reduce your impact on the environment. However, note that most coaches do not allow you to bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Do you have to print your ShortLine ticket?

Yes, ShortLine requires that all passengers have printed tickets to board the coach. When you book with Wanderu and activate your account, you will be able to easily find and download your tickets for most coaches.

Does ShortLine offer any premium features like extra legroom or movies?

ShortLine goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as ShortLine offers extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you get may vary between coach lines, but getting extra is always good.
