Established in 1856, the station underwent a major renovation project in 2012, adding more amenities such as access points for people with disabilities. The current station is served by two rail lines: The Toronto-Ottawa line and the Toronto-Montreal line. The station's additional amenities include paid permanent parking slots and a bicycle box. The station also features three tracks and two platforms to board the trains.

The station is served by two VIA Rail lines and one Amtrak line, the Adirondack, which connects Saint-Lambert to New York City. This station also serves as a stop for four local bus lines.
