Set on the enchanting Weser River, Bremen is worth visiting in any season. This German city offers a relaxed atmosphere during summer, colourful outdoor fun in spring, warm light walks in autumn, and romantic vacations in winter.

One of Bremen's most iconic sights is the statue of the knight, Roland, located in front of the city hall, facing the cathedral, St. Petri Dom Bremen. Of course, the cathedral itself is a must-see, and you can even climb one of its soaring towers for a remarkable view of the whole city.

The best explorations of Bremen wander through its various neighbourhoods and districts. The Böttcherstrasse is a short but significant street lined with unusual 20th-century architecture, perfect for an edgy Instagram shot. Schnoor, on the other hand, preserves Bremen's medieval character; unique shops and restaurants are tucked into fairytale streets of quaint buildings.

If you wander out in the Vegesack district, you'll find Maritime Mile, a 400-year-old man-made harbour. This area showcases Bremen's maritime prominence, best exemplified by the restored merchant ship, Schulschiff Deutschland.

International travelers can reach Bremen via the Bremen Airport, but the German countryside is best seen from a train seat. You can ride Deutsche Bahn, DB Intercity, FlixTrain, and Metronom, among others. It is also easy to reach Bremen on intercity coaches from carriers like FlixBus, Sindbad, BlaBlaCar Bus, Arda Tur, Union Ivkoni, and Citylines.
