Amtrak California Zephyr

Pros: For a first time traveler on the train, it was nice to have the ability to upgrade to a roomette for a little privacy and extra attention. Cons: The roomette was dated and not as comfortable as advertised. One of the bathrooms in the roomette car was without water and therefore, not in working order. Also, there was only one electrical outlet in the roomette. Tips: An upgrade from coach to roomette is nice for privacy and free meals, but may not be worth the extra money for a trip less than 10 hours.
