Built in 1986, Providence Station is the state of Rhode Island’s busiest train station. Falling on the Northeast Corridor, Providence Station acts as a gateway into Boston to the north and also provides direct connections to many major cities to the southwest, such as New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. The station is served by Amtrak, which runs its flagship Acela and Northeast Regional services, and the MBTA, which operates between T. F. Green Airport, Providence, and Boston. The Central Transfer Station on First Ave in Ocala is a coach stop for Amtrak Thruway coaches and local SunTran coaches. Coaches pull up to the lot adjacent to the red brick building near the train tracks; however, the building does not have a waiting area for passengers, and you will board the coach from the curb. The coach stop is right next to Tuscawilla Art Park and Tuscawilla Lake, so if you have time to kill, walk around the park grounds and check out the unique sculptures scattered throughout.
