About Amtrak Adirondack

Amtrak Adirondack is a cross-border international rail service linking New York City with Montreal in Canada. It travels via Albany, the capital of New York state.

Traveling through the Hudson Valley, across the eastern edge of the Adirondack Mountains (which give the service its name), and the Lake Champlain region, Amtrak Adirondack completes the 381-mile journey in ten hours. The trip includes customs and immigration checks at the Canadian border – so don't forget your passport!

Amtrak Adirondack has been operating since 1974 and carries approximately 130,000 passengers yearly. The train hits 18 different cities during its 72 daily trips, with all but three of them – St. Lambert, Quebec, and Montreal – in New York state.

The ride is very comfortable with generous seat widths and legroom, an onboard café service, power outlets for passenger use, and complimentary WiFi- plus gorgeous views of the Hudson Valley.

Amtrak has been a Wanderu partner since 2015. Search tickets for the Amtrak Adirondack, check schedules and get the best deals on Wanderu.
