About Brockville
With a population of only 21,000, Brockville is a small city that punches well above its weight in entertainment and adventure. It's a place where history is palpable everywhere, especially in the restored Brockville Railway Tunnel, the first of its kind in Canada, which leads walkers from the waterfront to the city's hub. Late Victorian and Edwardian era architecture is captured at the stately Fulford Place Museum and the world-famous castles that make up the Thousand Islands archipelago. With the St. Lawrence river on Brockville's doorstep, visitors can enjoy historic cruises through the region or get their feet wet with fishing, kayaking, and scuba diving.
Whether you're after comfort food or a healthy meal, Brockville's waterfront restaurant scene has got you covered. The city is also home to a handful of microbreweries and cideries that allow visitors to experience local culture in the form of a refreshing alcoholic beverage.
Situated upstream from Lake Ontario, Brockville is very well connected and easy to reach. It forms part of the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor and is served by VIA Rail connections to Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal.

Link to image attributionBrockville, also known as the City of the 1000 Islands, is one of the oldest railway hubs in Canada. In 2009, VIA Rail built a new terminal to replace the historic 1872 Brockville station. The new station is located on Perth Street near downtown Brockville. Since the sweeping renovation, the station has been running trains from Toronto to Ottawa and Montreal. At the wheelchair-accessible station, you will find an indoor waiting area, restrooms, and telephones. Outside, there is an ample amount of parking space available. The station opens 30 minutes before the first train arrives for the day and closes 30 minutes after the last train departs. However, working hours may change due to unforeseen circumstances like local events, holidays, and extreme weather.
