Opened in 1974, the Kingston VIA Rail Station is the principal intercity rail transportation hub in Kingston, offering rail services throughout Ontario. The station is currently served by two VIA Rail lines: Toronto-Ottawa and Toronto-Montreal. Public restrooms, vending machines, a snack bar, and wheelchair access points are just some of the station's amenities. The station also offers both long-term and short-term parking slots.

The Cobourg VIA Station serves VIA Rail's Toronto to Ottawa and Toronto to Montreal lines. In 2011, the existing station was expanded to include a new platform, a modernized skywalk, and additional amenities, including accessible entrances and bicycle facilities. There is plentiful seating and restrooms inside. There is currently no local transit service to the station, but parking is available for those driving themselves. Several fast-food restaurants are just a short walk away on Division Street for a meal before your train ride.
