VIA Rail

Pros: My second travel experience aboard VIA Rail was excellent. I'm from Michigan and it's good to travel long distances in Canada by rail, especially with the quality of staff and technologies onboard. The comparatively high speed of 100 MpH and smooth track made the travel enjoyable. Easy to see why every seat on VIA was filled! This is quality. While AMTRAK is also very good, the approach by VIA is ahead with assigned seats, special assistance provide passengers onboard and generally higher quality train coaches, imho. Cons: Onboard WiFi was at times slow, possibly due to other passengers using the WiFi simultaneously. Having WiFi at all is welcome. On this route accessing the internet without the use of WiFi was possible while traveling along the shoreline of Lake Ontario and through rural communities. Tips: Highly recommend VIA Rail. The entire experience was very positive and enjoyable, less expensive and safer than driving with less fatigue.

Established in 1943, the Gare Centrale is one of the most important intercity rail stations in Montreal, offering high-speed rail services to as many as 11 million customers per year. The station is the centerpiece of the Québec City-Windsor corridor, the busiest intercity rail service area in the country. The city's train services are operated by VIA Railand Amtrak, with several destinations including Toronto and Windsor. The London VIA Rail Station is a large intercity rail station in London, offering access to travelers who wish to visit Windsor, Toronto, and Sarnia.
