Amtrak Palmetto

Pros: The train arrived in Baltimore on time. The staff was very friendly and insisted that passengers maintain the cleanliness of the restrooms and the train. They even came around with bags to collect the trash. I also like that the train master gave regular updates and apologised repeatedly for delays. Passengers were courteous, a few inconsiderate with the chatter, and there were, for the most part, enough seats that you would not need to sit beside a stranger for long. I reseated when the train reached Richmond, VA. The leg room was like sitting in a recliner! It was my first time riding on Amtrak and I absolutely loved it! Cons: Well, I wanted to travel overnight from Fayetteville to Baltimore and there were no trip schedules. I was so disappointed and had to resort to one of those insufferable buses than has such small leg room. So, if you could check out the viability of overnight trips from Fayetteville, especially on Fridays, I would be happy. Also, could you have the upcoming stations displayed electronically as they do on the subway trains in New York? That too would be helpful. Tips: Ask for specific directions as to how to access the platforms. It was at the time for boarding that I realized that my platform was on the other side of the tracks. I had to move hurriedly in the elevator, across the overhead landing then down in another elevator.
