Amtrak

Pros: The seats in coach felt like first class on a plane! Cons: Communication a bit better. I got on the train for Albany toward Boston but the attendant didn't specify that the train (which had just arrived) was separating and only 2 cars were going toward Boston and the other 2/3 of the train was going toward NYC. I got on NYC and, luckily, saw that the train's electricity was still off 12 minutes after it was supposed to leave. That's when I learned about the separation and ran off the train. I literally caught the first half going to Boston as the doors were closing to leave. It left 15 minutes late when it had been sitting there on the track for over an hour waiting to leave. Miracle on Christmas Eve, but I wish the attendant had told me to get on a specific car. All other attendants were very attentive and organized. Quite impressed. Tips: It's not the subway with words telling you where you're headed next all over. Make sure if an attendant doesn't mention to you where you're going before you leave that you ask them.
