Amtrak Empire Builder

Pros: I really liked the comfortable chairs, the quiet, the view, the leg room! Cons: As a first time train traveler, I didn't know where I was supposed to be and it seemed confusing. I was very nervous about escalators with all of my luggage both in Milwaukee and in St. Paul (where it was the only option). In St. Paul, we were told we were entering the station. We all jumped up, gathered all of our things and waited another 1/2 hour standing in the walkways. Once off the train there was no one to direct me to where to go to find my ride. Just felt a bit of confusion. Tips: Bring along some snacks in case your not able to get to the food car. Info was over the intercom system that was very difficult to hear!

Amtrak Empire Builder

Pros: Truly enjoy relaxing while traveling on Amtrak. Great staff, roomy seats that are comfortable. Love the observation car too. Cons: Looking forward to dining car opening up more after covid is done . Tips: Have flexible departure and arrival times since sometimes there are delays. Still worth the delays to take the train!
