The Northeast Regional is a passenger rail service operated by Amtrak, the largest train travel provider in America. Pros: I have always opted for train from VA Union Station to New York. My client purchased the ticket for me and I went in total comfort. Your service is superb. All staff were so helpful. Cons: The only think you might improve it maybe putting foot rests in front of the seats (like on the bottom of the seat in front.) Otherwise there is little to improve and I need to do it again pretty soon. thank you so much. Tips: Simply pack light. There is plenty of storage room on the train, but it pays to take only essentials. I went and packed my laptop and there was no need. I have my icloud information that is better than my laptop and that only weighed my suitcase. Also, take some healthy snacks. (I packed tangerines and two bottles of Fairlife chocolate drinks. Good stuff. Have fun on the train?

Amtrak Northeast Regional Cancellation Policy

All Amtrak Northeast Regional tickets can be cancelled for a full refund within the first 24 hours after purchase. If more than 24 hours have passed, the cancellation policy and change fee structure for Amtrak bookings depend on the type of fare you purchased:

Saver Fare tickets: A 25% fee applies for any changes. If you cancel the trip, you will receive an eVoucher worth 75% of the original ticket price.

Value Fare tickets: No change fees and fully refundable up to 15 or more days before departure. If cancelled less than 14 days before departure, a 25% cancellation fee applies.

Flexible, Business and Premium Fare tickets: No change fees and fully refundable if cancelled or changed before departure.
