Pros: Very comfortable and on time. Having to take the escalator down at the Toronto end (because the elevator was not working) with a walker would have presented a very real problem for us but fortunately there was someone there to facilitate that for us. Cons: A better rate for seniors no matter when they want to travel.

Pros: nothing traumatic happened! Yay! Just a boring trip. Cons: As I am considered to be somewhat "hyper-vigilant", I take note of small details. At first, I thought it was just my luck-of-the-draw seating assignment... [which had been changed from forward to rear-facing with a mere 3 hours' notice, even though I had booked 3 weeks in advance...I find rear-facing extremely unnerving to the point that I cannot relax] ...there was an obvious pattern. Short-run local passengers were more often assigned to window seats whereas those of us travelling all the way to Toronto were assigned to the aisles. This makes no sense and annoyed EVERYONE involved. You couldn't "settle in" or even attempt to nod off for an hour or so because you were forced to unsettle at every other stop along the journey to accommodate one's new seatmate. We are clients, not cattle. Surely there must be a simple software fix for that. It's unnecessary. Also, what is Via's concept of WiFi? I pulled up my boarding pass, ticket receipt and Vax QR code available on my smartphone just before boarding. As soon as I stepped aboard..." access unavailable", or some such similar note. So, I was on board without a ticket. It was more like ANTI-WiFi, I had NO access whatsoever. Tips: Print a hard copy of your boarding pass, receipt and Vax QR codes.
