New Carrollton is a small town in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, located about 13 miles northeast of the nation's capital. Much of the city is residential, with services typical for a suburb, including a shopping mall, grocery stores, several restaurants, and so on. The Northeast Regional departing from D.C. makes its first stop in New Carrollton before continuing on to Philadelphia, New York City, and Boston.
