Perks of Taking a Megabus Trip

There are two unique perks of the famous Megabus double decker buses. One perk is the front row of seats on the second floor which provide an unrestricted view of the road which makes for quite a show expecially if your trip takes out of the main urban coridors and out on the open road. To snag these seats you can reserve them for a small extra fee at the time of booking. THe second unique Megabus perk is the two sets of table seating on the bottom floor. These comfy seats are perfect if you want to make the bus trip your office on wheels. Plug in, set up camp and get to work or play. One of the sets of table seats is available to reserve ahead of time for a small fee while the other is first come first serve so if that's what you have your heart set on bet make a beeline for it as you board the Megabus.

Megabus Luggage Policy

For each passenger reservation, Megabus will accept one piece of luggage. The Megabus luggage policy states that the checked luggage should not exceed 62” and weight no more than 50 lbs. Each Megabus passenger is also allowed one carry-on bag that should fit in the overhead compartment or underneath their seat. Megabus highly recommends using a label with each piece of checked luggage, just in case the item is lost in transit.


If you need to travel with additional luggage, then you should purchase an additional bus ticket before arriving at the Megabus stop. Bicycles and hazardous materials are not permitted on Megabus. The maximum liability covered by Megabus is $250.

When traveling with Megabus, you’ll have access to a wide variety of amenities. All Megabus coaches are equipped with an on-board restroom, power outlets, reclining seats, and free WiFi.


Does Megabus offer onboard WiFI?

All Megabus services come equiped with free onboard WiFi. Although Megabus makes a strong effort to provide complementary WiFi, sometimes it may be unavailable and no refund will be issues when it is not. Megabus WiFi policy does state that there will be no ticket refund if WiFi is unavailable. The Megabus bathroom is clean and well maintained, so you can travel comfortably to your destination.


Does Megabus offer electric outlets onboard?

All Megabus services come equiped with in seatch electric outlet plugs usually allowing each passanger to have their own outlet to charge their electronics throughout the journey.

Megabus Cancellation & Refunds

Unless a Megabus trip has failed to deliver the offered service, Megabus reservations cannot be cancelled or refunded. If you need to change your reservation, then you need to do so at least 6 hours prior to departure. A trade in fee, which varies from $3.00-$7.50 and a $2.00 new reservation fee is charged. If the cost of the new reservation is less than the old Megabus ticket, then no credit will be made to the customer; however, if the cost of the new ticket is greater than the old, customers must pay the difference in order to complete their new registration.

When traveling with Megabus, you’ll have access to a wide variety of onboard amenities that make your travel experience more comfortable. All Megabus trips are equipped with on board restrooms, power outlets, three point seatbelts, reclining seats, and complementary WiFi.
