Pros: Got me there on time. Cons: The train track right of way was strewn from DC to NYC with garbage, old tires, and other general eyesores. Miles and miles of graffiti. Abandoned buildings, boarded up houses were the norm. AMTRAK will do well to clean up all the garbage on their property. It looks horrible. Tips: Don’t get a window seat. You won’t like what you see.

Cons: The driver was not going to let me on without buying my 3 year old grandson a ticket which I've never had to do the many times traveling back and forth. She made me pay for an adult ticket for him and said there's a half priced ticket for children. When I told her there wasn't and I've never seen one and that I've never had to pay for him, she said I couldn't be telling the truth. I paid because I had no choice or she would not have let us on. Tips: Know the ins and outs of Amtrack guidelines and your rights as a consumer.

Cons: This particular trip only allowed luggage space in the smallest luggage area under bus for all passengers. I wasn't too happy with having to stack my belongings on top of others and others on top of mine. Tips: Bring earbuds if you don't like noisy and rude passengers.

Pros: It was first time on Amtrak. Cons: Food car service slow but priced reasonably. Tips: If you have a small back pack it can go on upper deck with you. I was not told this, then mine was blocked in by larger bags.

Pros: I don’t believe the pandemic was an issue with Amtrak or the bus company, because I saw no warning or reminder signs, nor any announcements. Cons: The signage for travelers transitioning from train to bus. After getting off the train in Fullerton, Ca. I was confused as to where to find the bus that would take me to Palm Springs. In Palm Springs, my drop off and next date return trip bus spot was a small enclosure with a small sign saying bus stop. I had questions but no one to answer them, and no one to reassure me that I was in the right place. Once I knew I was where I needed to be, the trip went very well. Tips: Verify everything in advance.

Pros: THE BUS WAS CLEAN AND THE DRIVER WAS AN EXCELLENT DRIVER AND VERY NICE AND PROFESSIONAL AND MOST IMPORTANT THE PLUGS TO CHARGE WORKED. Cons: IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THE WINDOWS WERE CLEAN SO YOU CAN SEE OUTSIDE HOWEVER WITH THAT BEING SAID THIS BUS WINDOWS WERE CLEAN BUT NOT THE FIRST BUS. THE FIRST BUS WINDOWS WERE FILTHY YOU COULD HARDLY SEE OUTSIDE. Tips: COME EARLY FOR THE BEST SEAT.
