Terrible trip. EIGHT HOURS LATE! One ridiculous delay after another. A scheduled 16 hour trip took over 24 frickin hours. On the website it said free wifi but when I got there I was told there was none.

Pros: I loved Flagstaff. It was enjoyable talking with other passengers and creating a comradeship. Although I didn't have a restaurant meal on the he train it looked very tasty. Cons: We arrived in Flagstaff 3 hours late. That was shocking. Tips: I have to say if you have a set plan to be somewhere on time don't go by train.

Pros: I liked the space of being on the train versus an airplane. Cons: The delay on the way there could have been improved, but I know they couldn't help it I am sure.

Cons: I wish the bathrooms were larger. The ones pointed perpendicular to the track direction are ridiculously small. Tips: Wait for the larger bathrooms to be open. Don't use the smaller ones unless there is no time and no choice.

Pros: Being able to walk around (not being stuck in a chair like on a plane) and also getting to watch the scenery without needing to watch the road (like driving). Cons: Notifying passengers the status of their train. I got to the station 20 minutes early as the website suggested, and only then did I find out via the amtrack attendant that the train was 90 minutes late. I would have liked to have known that before getting to the station. A text alert for if the train is on time or late would be really nice. Tips: BRING A BLANKET; THE CABIN GETS VERY COLD AT NIGHT.

Pros: Chuck the announcer was spooky. Cons: The cars themselves are just very outdated and gross. It smells like a bowling alley in there. Tips: bring nose plugs and ear plus.

Pros: It was fast, reached destination quickly. Cons: The Gallup Amtrak station could be opened back up or a indoor seating and waiting area could be provided. Tips: Be prepared for delays.....
