Rider Express Cancellation Policy

Can I make changes to my Rider Express ticket?
You can change your bus ticket under specific conditions:

  • Rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before departure by contacting [email protected].
  • There is a $30 rescheduling fee per ticket.
  • If your ticket was booked less than 24 hours before departure, it cannot be changed or rescheduled.

    Can I cancel my Rider Express ticket and get a refund?
    Rider Express does not offer full refunds, but you can cancel your ticket more than 24 hours from departure for a partial refund:

  • You will receive a 50% refund of the ticket price.
  • Promotional tickets cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
  • Extra fees for luggage, bikes, or ski bags are non-refundable, even if you don’t bring them at check-in.

    Additionally, if you purchased travel insurance with Allianz when you booked your ticket on Wanderu, you can file a claim for reimbursement for a covered reason.

Rider Express Baggage Policy

Carry-on Bags

  • One (1) carry-on bag up to 7 lbs (or 3 kg).
  • Must be placed in the overhead bins or under the passenger seat. Bags cannot be placed on seats due to safety concerns. The aisle must be kept clear of personal items.
  • Bus overhead compartment size: 17 in deep x 15 in wide x 8 in tall.
  • Bags that are heavier than the allowance and/or do not fit in the overhead compartment are subject to additional charge.

    Checked Baggage

  • Up to two (2) checked bags per passenger free of charge.
  • A third piece of luggage costs $30. A fourth piece costs $40.
  • Maximum four (4) pieces of baggage are allowed to check in.
  • Each bag may not weigh more than 50 lbs (or 23 kg).
  • If you are traveling with more than 4 bags, you may ship them as parcels.

    Bulky Items & Sports Equipment

  • Oversized and overweight items such as snowboards, skis, ski poles, furniture, car parts etc. are subject to additional charges.
  • Overweight items cannot exceed 60 lbs (or 27 kg) per piece.
  • Oversized items are any baggage over 30 in (76 cm) in length and/or 19 in (48 cm) in width.
  • One (1) checked ski bag is allowed for each passenger for a fee of $40. If a passenger wishes to bring more than one ski bag, the additional ski bags will need to be shipped as parcels.

    Bicycles
    Bicycles are allowed on the bus for an additional $50 fee. They must be wrapped or boxed to prevent sharp edges and greasy parts from damaging other luggage and to protect the bike from potential damage. Please see the Rider Express luggage policy for more details.

No, unfortunately Rider Express does not offer WiFi aboard its coaches at this time. However, we find that a good book makes the time fly by and streaming services like Netflix allow you download TV shows and movies that you can then watch during your trip. Plan ahead and you will stay entertained during the entire coach ride.

Rider Express has a very generous luggage policy. In addition to one carry-on item, each passenger is allowed to check in two pieces of luggage for free. You can also check a third piece of luggage for $30, or a fourth for $40.

Your carry-on bag can be a maximum of 15 lbs (7 kg), and the total maximum weight for all checked baggage must not exceed 50 lbs (23 kg). You can also check sports equipment for an additional charge.
