November 23, 2023- Visiting family

Amtrak Coast Starlight

Pros: Easy travel overall. Cons: 1. Better signage at the station and the platforms. 2. Please bring back the business class option. The contrast from Coach to a Roomette is stark in cost and convenience. Having the business class option offers a nice middle ground and would definitely make me and other family members much more inclined to choose to travel with Amtrak. Tips: Although smoking is not allowed on the train, quite a number of passengers use the stops for a smoking break, and they wreak when they reboard. Sitting near them feels like breathing in second-hand smoke and foul odors. It would be great if you would designate a certain train car specifically for smokers, so that those of us who prefer clean air do not need to contend with the residual odors of their smoke breaks.
