It is also called the Cotton Capital of the World and is the center of the civil rights movement in the United States. Greenwood was pushed under the national spotlight after the murder of Emmett Louis Till. This triggered civil rights movements in the city, and you can pay your respects at the Emmett Till Historical Marker. Greenwood features diverse historical sites and museums like the Fort Pemberton Memorial Park and Museum of the Mississippi Delta. Memphis Central Station is a historic train station that has served as the central hub of Memphis’ transportation since 1914. It is the only full-service Amtrak station in the state of Tennessee, and serves the City of New Orleans train line, which runs from Chicago to New Orleans. A luxury Hilton hotel is located at the station, complete with two restaurants and a bar.
