Deutsche Bahn trains even run all the way to Split, so you can travel the entire length of Central Europe.

Memmingen is a small Bavarian city that often serves as a gateway for travellers headed to the Bavarian Alps or Lake Constance. The city's founding dates back to the days of the Roman Empire, and many ruins of ancient structures are scattered throughout the city. The old town quarter is among the most popular attractions in Memmingen. It features many Baroque houses festooned with spiral details, unique rooflines, and other playful architectural elements. The local Renaissance market, located next to the town hall, is also extremely picturesque.

Don't miss the chance to walk along the path of the old town's medieval walls. Portions of the walls and five towers still stand and show what the town used to look like.
