With its crystal clear blue waters and views of the Lattari Mountains' peaks, it's impossible not to fall in love with Positano. Once you arrive, you'll see why this is the most iconic and well-known village on the Amalfi Coast, as its quintessential Mediterranean atmosphere gives Positano an irresistible charm.

The village is dotted with numerous quaint boutiques, lemon-themed ceramics stalls, and romantic restaurants promising a sample of the area's renowned seafood, all contributing to the postcard feel of the town. However, the most popular attraction in this small village is the beach. Spend an idyllic day relaxing under an umbrella or swimming in the bluest of waters.

When the sun becomes too hot, retreat into town to do some shopping in one of the many boutique clothing shops and embrace "Moda di Positano," Positano style! Before you leave, make sure to sample some of Italy's famous gelato in one of Positano's gelaterias.

Although Positano is a little tricky to get to, it is worth every bit of effort. The closest airport is in Naples, around 48 kilometers away. However, several coach companies run coaches from Rome to Positano, with stops in towns along the way.

Rome

Rome is a city rich in cultural heritage, as well as one of the most romantic destinations in Europe. To fully understand the city’s extraordinary history, visitors should take the time to visit the Capitoline Museums, where the collections include hundreds of sculptures as well as the Capitoline Wolf, the symbol of Rome itself. The famous Trevi’s Fountain is also on the must-see list of many travelers. Boasting an amazing baroque design with mythological motifs, the fountain is one of the most photogenic spots in the city, and it is located near the principal shopping area. If you wish to check out some of the city’s most iconic structures, head over to the Sistine Chapel, which houses the famous fresco by Michelangelo.

The principal train station in Rome is the Termini station. The main bus station is Roma Tiburtina.
