About FlixTrain
Part of the FlixBus family, FlixTrain is a German rail company offering long-distance passenger connections within Germany without the fuss. The popular European coach company FlixBus launched the new affordable and sustainable train service in 2018 in partnership with private train operators to run the routes. The bulk of FlixTrain's 4879 routes are within Germany, but they have recently begun expanding service into Sweden.
Serving some of Germany's most popular cities, FlixTrain routes include Berlin to Stuttgart, Hamburg to Munich, and Hamburg to Aachen. In Sweden, FlixTrain operates services on the busy Stockholm to Gothenburg route. In total, FlixTrain routes connect 40 cities via their 36822 trips per month.
Although one of FlixTrain's appeals is its competitive pricing, its trains offer Wi-Fi, power outlets, air conditioning, onboard restrooms, and movies via the Flix entertainment portal. In addition, each passenger gets a guaranteed seat, so there's no chance of needing to stand. Although most trips with FlixTrain will have WiFi as advertised, some trains might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. FlixTrain WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge-watch your favorite show.
Yes, there are power outlets onboard FlixTrain trains. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.
