Venice to Pula ferry

Situated at the southern tip of the Istrian peninsula, Pula is the largest city in Croatia's Istria County. Known for its Roman monuments and many summertime festivals, Pula is a vibrant coastal town with much to explore.

The most renowned attraction in Pula is the Roman Amphitheater. Once home to gladiatorial battles over 2,000 years ago, the amphitheatre now stages many annual festivals and live concerts. The Roman Temple of Augustus also still stands in the city, and the small adjoining museum houses various stone carvings and relics from the 1st century.

For a taste of local life, visit the lively Pula Market. With around 60 stalls selling local fresh fish, meat, vegetables, and everything in between, the market is a great place to take a stroll and get to know the locals.

A trip to Pula would be incomplete without visiting one of its exceptionally scenic nearby beaches. One of the most popular is the Verudela peninsula, which can be easily accessed by bus from the city. Spend the day relaxing on the shingle beach in front of clear blue waters, or take shelter from the sun at Aquarium Pula.

Since the city is a popular destination, transport to Pula is well-established. Pula Airport welcomes many daily flights from various European cities. The sizable coach station allows for coach access from many points across Europe, and the train station provides routes to several major towns across Istria and Slovenia.
