One of the best activities is hiking along the Huckleberry Trail, a 7-mile route that connects Christiansburg to Blacksburg. In Blacksburg, you can explore the campus of Virginia Tech before heading back to Christiansburg along the wooded rail trail. Other scenic hikes in the area include the Coal Mining Heritage Park and Loop Trail and a walk up to Stiles Falls.
The Blue Ridge Mountains region is well-known for its excellent wineries and breweries. Iron Tree Brewing Company is conveniently located in downtown Christiansburg, but to venture even further, check out Rising Silo Brewery or Glade Road Growing in Blacksburg. You'll find organic malts processed sustainably in both of these places to produce the best beers in Virginia.

The Park & Ride Lot in Christiansburg is the main stopping point for MegaBus services, which travel to destinations such as New York, Philadelphia, and Washington. The lot is at the intersection of highway 460 and 11 (aka Roanoake Street). The Park & Ride Lot itself doesn't come with too many surprises: it's a large parking area with outdoor seating for those waiting for their bus. While there's not much to do at the lot itself, it's not too far from central Christiansburg, which has plenty of dining and hotels.
