Union Station in New Haven is Connecticut’s most important transportation hub and is also one of the busiest stations in Amtrak’s national rail network. The station serves interstate Amtrak passenger trains that run along the Northeast Corridor between Washington, DC and Boston. Additionally, there are several commuter rail services operated by Amtrak, MTA and CTrail that connect New Haven to the likes of New York and Hartford. Union Station also accommodates CTtransit’s local buses services as well as intercity bus travel from carriers including Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines. In addition, a free shuttle service is available from Union Station to New Haven Green in the city’s modern downtown.

Union Station is one of Worcester's most beautiful buildings, which finished up a full restoration in 1999. Its impressive interior continues inside with high ceilings and spacious waiting areas. The station is the main transport hub of the area, with Amtrak and MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transport Authority) trains, plus intercity bus services by WRTA (Worcester Regional). Greyhound and Peter Pan bus lines operate intercity services here, while OurBus stops here on the way to New York City.
