Located in Portland’s Old Town Chinatown area at 800 Northwest Sixth Avenue, Union Station features a glowing neon sign encouraging you to “Go By Train.” Union Station serves several iconic Amtrak routes including the Cascades through the Pacific Northwest, the scenic Coast Starlight from Los Angeles to Seattle, and the long-distance Empire Builder which travels all the way to Chicago. Along with train service, Union Station serves intercity bus service via Greyhound, and connects to the Portland Streetcar, MAX Light Rail, and several local TriMet buses. Eddie Bernice Johnson Union Station first opened in 1916, and connected Dallas to the United States’ growing rail network. Today, the station offers service on Amtrak’s Texas Eagle line which runs from Chicago to San Antonio. Passengers can also connect to Dallas Area Rapid Transit (or DART) within the station. Located just east of downtown Dallas, Union Station is conveniently close to the Dallas Convention Center, the primary bus station, and several of the area’s main freeways. Parking, restrooms, and vending machines are available at the station, and it’s easy to grab a quick bite at any one of numerous nearby eateries, from fast food joints to steakhouses.
