Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: Comfortable and convenient. I purchased food at Providence Train Station and the service was excellent. Lots of leg room and no aches after 3 hours 15 minutes! Liked the convenience of an e-ticket too. Cons: Wifi! I really wanted to get some work done but couldn't...brutal lag times and very slow speeds. This should be an easy fix. Tips: The Providence train station, while a bit dodgy looking and scruffy, was safe Penn Street in New York could stand a week of scrubbing!!! Plus, I got played by a pretend cabbie...don't allow yourself to be picked up by some person claiming to be a private company/taxi operator. 'Rookie' error...I must be part rube I guess. Absolute rip off...mind you, the first yellow cab I got into booted me out because they didn't want to drive to Brooklyn. I'm now an avowed Uber user...

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: More room than a bus, stations convenient to where I live and my destination. Feels safer than a bus and no hassle like a car. Cons: Cleanliness. The seats smelled like BO. WiFi was slow and patchy. Trains are OK but aging. Tracks are rough and train cars were bumping and vibrating like a bus at times. Tips: Buy the flex pass and travel insurance. I experienced a multi-hour delay because a tree branch fell on the tracks.
