Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: The friendliness of the staff and that the train was on time. Cons: I had purchased a regular ticket, but upgraded to business class. However, I did not receive notification in time, so I had to use regular class. I am not being refunded and as a 90 year old senior citizen this ANNOYS me, because I could certainly use this refund. But overall I REALLY enjoyed my train ride. Tips: Don't make a bid for upgrade.

20 April 2023- Visiting friends

Amtrak Northeast Regional

Pros: The chance to see towns countryside and coastlines between DC and Newhaven CT. To experience a longer journey with AMTRAK. Cons: Could be cleaner and you should consider including upstairs seat options for business class. The windows in the train I travelled on (184) were well placed and easy to see out of but could have been cleaner. Please consider adding a proper headrest/ cushion to help travellers relax or catch a nap. For everyone’s convenience please add USB sockets for keeping devices charged up in long journeys. Table service for business travellers would be welcome as an alternative to the long walk and standing in line at the restaurant car. I bought a ticket back from Newhaven to Newark but was not offered the option of getting off one stop later at the airport…. Please consider including a pop-up reminder for air travellers like me. Lastly WIFI was working but the service frequently dropped which wasted a lot of valuable time. Tips: Get as much detail about the train the quality and accessibility of amenities on board and the journey before you travel.
