Pros: On a cold spring night, it was as warm and comfortable as our living room, with subdued lighting that didn't glare, making it easy to take a nap at any time. Even the small spotlights that could be switched on or off for reading were relatively easy on the eyes. Cons: The audio system was distorted, so announcements from the conductor and staff were sometimes hard to understand. Tips: A seat toward the middle of the car makes for a smoother ride. Better to wait until the train is stopped before moving heavy bags from the racks above.
