Pros: I liked that the seats were very comfy and spacious; however, the tickets were ridiculously high because I booked them last minute. Maybe if I had known about my work trip earlier, it could have saved me a bit more on the cost. Cons: Cost. Tips: Bring motion sickness pills because as comfy as these seats are, I still felt nauseous as soon as the train started moving.

Pros: Nice ride going and coming on Amtrak. Decent hotel, the Melrose in the Georgetown section of DC. Excellent film festival, the African International Diaspora Film Festival at George Washington University. Cons: The Amtrak ride was clean and safe. My only issue with the train ride was it was often bumpy, meaning if I wanted to write longhand or use my laptop it would have been a problem. Tips: If you want a decently priced Amtrak Acela trip in the Boston to Washington, DC corridor, book your trip six to eight weeks in advance.
