Amtrak

Pros: Except for bus’ sudden breaking on freeway due to other vehicle’s unsafe maneuver, the trip was very smooth and comfortable. The driver is a professional. Cons: The train conductors are always smiling and friendly. The bus drivers seem more stressed and less friendly. Tips: Be respectful of other passengers and don’t talk loudly to others across the aisle so that everyone hears your conversation the whole trip!

Amtrak

Pros: I saved on gas and vehicle-wear-tear going 275 miles. I could relax; I didn’t have to drive. The bus only had 11 people going between Sacramento and Redding, so it was comfy and quiet. Cons: I didn’t know snack boxes and water were available for free on the train on my first leg. Tips: On a busy Friday, everyone wore masks and rules were enforced, despite a full train and bus going to Sacramento. Riders were quiet and respectful. Thank you!!
