Amtrak Silver Service

Pros: It was a unique experience. Cons: When you book on line there should be instructions for when you reach the station. I did not know that I had to have a physical ticket but fortunately I asked the station master and she was great helping me navigate. Also the station was under construction and the road closed diverting traffic around. It would have helped to have some notification. I went into a store to ask how to get to the station. Tips: You can go around the “detour” signs! That’s the only way to get to the station.

Pros: I enjoy train rides, so it was a fun getaway for the day. Cons: At the terminal in Winter Park, there were no signs as to where to go to head the direction we needed. And no signs were posted for the return to Deland. After asking, we were told to wait at the other tracks from the terminal and board on the door that opens. There were no benches to sit on and no shelter to stand under. Everyone waiting for the train was as confussed as we were! This was my first experience boarding in Winter Park. I have traveled extensively on trains through Europe, etc and never experienced this issue. Tips: Consider signage and benches on the Northern destination side of the tracks in Winter Park.
