Pros: Amtrak got me to my destination in a reasonable time at a reasonable cost and it was fun taking the train. Cons: It would have been better if disabled people could sit downstairs. Climbing the steps was a bit difficult after knee surgery. Tips: Get to the station on time or you will lose your ride.

Pros: The scenery wasn't much, but I did get to see some deer, geese and ducks. Staff was friendly and helpful. Cons: The Cafe kept closing as they were having technical issues. We stopped about four times, as a sensor kept telling the train operator that we lost an axel, these stops caused me to arrive later than expected at my stop in the Dells. Other than that, I enjoyed the ride. Tips: Walk with your own snacks & water or even food if you can.

Train is old but very nice. Love the ride. I wish there was a place to check for a text if delayed and a choice for lower or upper level. On my way to Glenview, Il. I had that option. The fare is good not out of line.
