The train left on time from St. Joseph, Michigan bound for Chicago, Illinois. The staff were helpful. We arrived a few minutes early to Union Station. I highly recommend the rail route for travel to and fro Chicago. Very pleasant trip and easy.

Pros: We typically would be driving to St. Joseph, but are carless for the time being so we checked out the Amtrak. It worked great. An easy ride, not overly crowded, very helpful train staff telling us in advance to get ready to depart and which car to be on as we left the Chicago station. Went very smoothly. Tips: It can get a little tricky in the train station so definitely get there about 20 to 30 minutes early. Then you can settle in and not have to stress about which Train Track etc.

Pros: Liked the comfy seats and the spaciousness. Everything was great. Cons: First time and didn’t really know where to find bathroom, refreshments, etc. Another traveler showed me.
