Bus was comfortable. Stops were long enough to smoke & ,sometimes, grab a drink. But not so long as to make the trip take forever. Bus wasn’t over crowded, I had a seat to myself for most of the trip.
Driver refused to turn on the A/C even tho it was 90* outside. He said “It’s on, you just can’t feel it.” That doesn’t even make sense. I wasn’t the only one who asked about it. Also, there were no outlets of any kind & the WiFi didn’t work.
Charge your devices before boarding. Just in case.

I enjoyed the convenient location of the bus stop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bus was clean including the bathroom.
If I had to chose something it would be a convenient place to sit and rest. I arrived 50 minutes early and I had to stand the entire time until it was time to board the bus.
This bus company was absolutely the best way to travel. This experience has changed the way I will travel in the future. The pricing was reasonable, the buses were clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly.

I was a little nervous about taking a bus so far, since I never had, but it was better than I expected! Comfortable seating, people were quiet & respectful.
Maybe a pit stop half way through.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you edit your BoltBus reservation?

Yes, you can change your Boltbus reservation. The change must be made more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled departure. You can make changes to your reservation online by selecting Reschedule a Reservation under the Reservation menu. There is no additional fee to reschedule your ticket.

Are BoltBus tickets refundable?

No, Boltbus tickets are nonrefundable. If you miss your scheduled departure you will not be allowed to travel on a later departure unless you purchase a new ticket.

Do BoltBus buses have WiFi?

Yes, BoltBus offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with BoltBus will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. BoltBus WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

What is the BoltBus luggage policy?

Carry On Bags: You can bring two small bags the size of a backpack or a pursue. The carry-on bags should fit in the overhead bins.

Checked Baggage: You are allowed to bring one piece of luggage to be placed under the bus.

Are there power points or USB points on the bus?

Yes, there are power points onboard BoltBus buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbour might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power points, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a power point USB converter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since BoltBus might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

What is BoltBus's schedule?

On a typical day, BoltBus has 121 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Can you pick up will call tickets at the station?

No, BoltBus does not offer will call tickets. You should purchase your tickets online and make sure you have everything you need to board before you arrive at the station.

How much do child tickets cost?

The BoltBus policy for kids traveling with their parents or guardians that one child under the age of 2 is allowed to travel for free with an adult holding a full fare ticket as long as the child can travel in their parents lap. For example, if 2 adults are traveling they could bring 2 children for free. Children aged 2 or older must hold a full priced adult ticket. Children under the age of 16 cannot travel by themselves on BoltBus.

Are meals or drinks offered during the trip?

BoltBus does not offer meals or beverages onboard. We recommend you bring a drink and some snacks for your trip. We also suggest packing a reusable water bottle with you to reduce your impact on the environment. However, note that most buses do not allow you to bring your own alcoholic drinks.

Do you have to print your BoltBus ticket?

BoltBus does not require a printed ticket to board the bus. Instead, an eTicket is sent to you by email when you make your reservation. You can use your smartphone to show this eTicket to the ticketing agent as you board.

Does BoltBus offer any premium features like extra legroom or movies?

BoltBus goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Movies are provided during the bus trip to keep you entertained. Don’t forget to bring your favorite pair of headphones, as headphones are not always included on the bus. We recommend in-ear noise cancelling headphones due to their small size.

Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as BoltBus offers extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you get may vary between bus lines, but getting extra is always good.

Board games are all the rage these days and BoltBus is keeping up with the latest trends by providing games you can play with your seat neighbors.
