Amtrak Lake Shore Limited passenger reviews
Pros Very comfortable the staff was friendly and was quiet and restful. Cons Bathroom need to be spruced up needs cleaning. Tips Wonderful way to travel leave the driving to the train.
Pros Happy that the seats had foot rests and leg rests. Like the option of moving to the café car and sitting at a larger table. My seatmate and I played cards for a while, which made the trip go by faster. At first the cars were not labeled and it was difficult to figure out which car I was in while walking back from the café cart once the lights went down and the passengers changed. It seemed to other people were having that same issue because they put a strip of paper in the window with the car number. This should be a permanent thing. and I absolutely love that they come around and make sure you don't miss your station so I wasn't afraid to take a small nap. Cons It was cold! I heard other people mention it, and the employee said if they turned it down, it would turn down all over the train. But the only car that wasn't freezing cold was the dining car. Also, the tray slammed down when people open them, and some people had broken leg rests that would slam down waking everyone. The toilet in our car, which I believe was three had very little water flow and didn't flush well. When I went to the next car, it had better water, flow and blue cleaner in the toilet that made it not smell as bad. I was shouted out for using the bathroom while we were at our one hour stop and we were told the toilets weren't flushing, but I went to put on pants because I was so cold. There was no reason to shout. I understand they probably tell people 1 million times not to use the toilets, but I didn't like the way it was shouted at me. Also, depending on where you were, it was difficult to hear the announcements so many people tried to use the bathroom during the stop because they couldn't hear what was said. Making the fact that I was yelled at more annoying. Wi-Fi was not consistent. Tips Bring a blanket and a sweatshirt. Bring an eye mask, even when the lights go down it's still hard to sleep with the cabin lights. Bring headphones, preferably noise cancelling. It's like sleeping at the hospital. People getting on and off are usually loud even when the car is quiet. Be prepared for the Wi-Fi to not work as well in some spots.

Pros Bus was not totally full, bathroom was clean & the staff were great! Cons The train was replaced with a bus. In the past when this happened, there were 2 busses, an express to Boston one, and one that made all the stops. I would have liked that!
Pros Smooth and easy directions Cons Nothing, was happy overall
Pros Getting to where I needed to go for cheap , Cons Timing and seating Tips Book now !!! lol
Pros I appreciated that there were plenty of power outlets and checking in for my reservation was one of the easiest I've experience in quite some time. Cons The only thing I can see being improved would be the WiFi speed. Tips Make sure to bring some snacks!
Pros Quiet Cons Nothing
Pros It was much more comfortable than Greyhound yet a bit messy though the staff was great ! Honestly they were very polite professional and helpful that was the highlight of my travel they did a wonderful job 😊 Cons Honestly just the sanitary part a couple of cars were trashy Tips Sit back relax and enjoy the ride !!
Pros Well organized and efficient Cons Didn't notice any faults Tips No
Pros I had a lot of leg room on the train and I had a place to charge my phone and to put my luggage 🧳. Cons The Restroom needs improvement even though I don't blame the staff but I do blame the people for being such pigs. Tips See if there is a direct train ride from Syracuse, N.Y. to Springfield, MA. Instead of changing to a bus half of the travel. Specially for this old gal.
