About Amtrak Northeast Regional

The Northeast Regional is a passenger rail service operated by Amtrak that connects 48 cities in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The service runs between Boston, MA and Virginia Beach, VA, with stops at several key destinations across the East Coast, including New York City, Washington D.C., Providence and Hartford.

As the more affordable of the two train lines that connect New York City with Boston and D.C. (the other one being Amtrak’s premium Acela service), the Northeast Regional is the busiest and most popular of all Amtrak routes. Trains run multiple times per day in either direction, transporting over 20,000 passengers on a daily basis. Northeast Regional train ticket prices start from €2.67 depending on the route.

Pros
The train ride, the staff on the train helped me with my 2 heavy luggage bags.
Cons
The staff inside the train station. NO ONE helped me with my bags. The safety officer watched me struggle with my 2 luggage bags and didne even ask if i needed a hand. I ended up hurting myself in the process of getting my 2 luggage bags out of the station.
Tips
Travel with someone so you wont feel alone, and you can have help.
