About Amtrak Thruway
Amtrak Thruway, also known as Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach, is a system of intercity passenger buses operated by Amtrak to connect train stations to areas that are not served by the carrier’s railroads. The service is also sometimes used to transfer passengers from one train line to another, or as a temporary replacement during track maintenance and train service disruptions.
Unlike all other Amtrak services, Thruway is not concentrated within a specific route or region. It is available wherever necessary across all of the contiguous United States, as well as certain parts of Canada, connecting a total of 284 locations. While most trips are served by modern coaches, some Amtrak Thruway trips may be conducted by a ferry or a van, depending on the route or number of passengers.
On Amtrak Thruway buses, passengers can enjoy comfortable reclining seats with leg rests and access to onboard restroom facilities. While buses don’t have some of the high-end amenities available on Amtrak trains, most of the trips are relatively short and prices are very reasonable, starting at just SEK 19.65.
Amtrak is an official Wanderu partner, which means that you can find the best deals on Amtrak Thruway bus tickets quickly and book easily.

Pros Clean, quick & fast!!!
Pros Station was well maintained, driver was nice and helpful as this was my first time taking the bus Cons Wish I would have known that the bus picks up at airport, not clear when making reservation. The speaker system at RTC almost impossible to understand.
Pros While all the staff were amiable and competent, I especially want to call out Bruce, the driver on the Grants Pass to Brookings leg of the trip. The Smith River Canyon is a very scary highway, with numerous twists and turns and precipitous cliffs mere meters from the center of the road. Bruce's driving skills and friendly demeanor made the trip as good as it can be. Cons No improvements come to mind. Tips These busses don't have bathrooms, so maybe don't drink two cups of coffee before you board.
