Positano to Sorrento ferry

With its crystal clear blue waters and views of the Lattari Mountains' peaks, it's impossible not to fall in love with Positano. Once you arrive, you'll see why this is the most iconic and well-known village on the Amalfi Coast, as its quintessential Mediterranean atmosphere gives Positano an irresistible charm.

The village is dotted with numerous quaint boutiques, lemon-themed ceramics stalls, and romantic restaurants promising a sample of the area’s renowned seafood, all contributing to the postcard feel of the town. However, the most popular attraction in this small village is the beach. Spend an idyllic day relaxing under an umbrella or swimming in the bluest of waters.

Although Positano is a little tricky to get to, it is worth every bit of effort. The closest airport is in Naples, around 48 kilometers away. However, several bus companies run buses from Rome to Positano, with stops in towns along the way.

Sorrento is a small city overlooking the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. Sorrento has earned a variety of monikers, including Land of Mermaids, Land of Colors, and Land of Orange and Lemon Groves. If those aren't enough to entice you, then perhaps the promise of history and elegant Greek, Roman, and medieval architecture will convince you to make a stop.

With the romantic appeal of the Piazza Tasso and its multitude of restaurants and bars, as well as the whimsical Church of San Francesco, Sorrento is the perfect place for a couples' getaway.

Explore the Museo Correale, originally the private residence of the aristocratic Correale family, and experience the height of decadence in the 24 rooms on show. If you'd like to splurge on some decadence yourself, Corso Italia and Via San Cesareo are Sorrento's main shopping streets. You'll find many local shops offering made-to-measure items, as well as hand-painted ceramics and every product imaginable made from the region's famous lemons. Hello, limoncello.

As a popular tourist destination, Sorrento has plenty of options for travel to the city. Naples Airport is close by and served by many major airlines, and frequent bus services run between Naples and Sorrento. FlixBus also allows access to the city from places like Florence and Siena.
