The company rapidly expanded its operations across Europe to become one of the largest intercity bus companies on the continent. Building on its European success, FlixBus U.S. launched in 2018 to offer the same affordable service in America.

From its headquarters in Munich, FlixBus ensures the timely arrival and departure of routes that traverse nearly all of the EU's 27 nations, plus the United Kingdom and Switzerland. FlixBus averages 70317 trips each day in Europe, linking 1077 cities on its 58915 routes. Some of its most popular bus routes include Rome to Florence, Amsterdam to Paris, and Prague to Vienna.

FlixBus passengers enjoy clean buses boasting Wi-Fi and live GPS, so you know exactly where your bus is at any point in time. Buses also contain restrooms, air conditioning, power outlets, and even access to an onboard entertainment portal. Travelers choose to ride FlixBus due to its wide coverage and numerous daily trips at affordable ticket prices.

FlixBus has been a partner of Wanderu since 2016, so you can get the cheapest FlixBus tickets by searching on Wanderu.

Each FlixBus passenger may bring two checked bags, with a maximum combined weight of 30 kg (66 lbs) and maximum dimensions of 67 x 50 x 27 cm. Passengers are also allowed to bring one carry-on bag weighing under 7 kg (l5 lbs) and dimensions within 42 x 30 x 18 cm.

For a fee of 5 euros, each passenger may bring an additional bag that weighs no more than 15 kg (33lbs). FlixBus luggage policy also states that passengers should label all bags they wish to transport.

Additionally, FlixBus allows travelers to bring a standard-size bicycle on the bus. The cost to bring a bicycle on FlixBus is 9 euros; passengers must reserve a spot for the bike in advance. Bicycles should be placed on special bike-designated carriers.

No, pets are not allowed on FlixBus trips. While FlixBus allows passengers to travel with service or assistance dogs on board, because of safety reasons, other pets are not allowed on the bus.

Yes, FlixBus offers WiFi on their buses. Although most trips with FlixBus will have WiFi as advertised, some buses might not come equipped with WiFi and onboard WiFi can lose its connection in rural areas. We recommend you bring a book or download a movie just to play it safe. FlixBus WiFi is generally best used for surfing the web, checking emails and chatting with friends; you shouldn’t count on the WiFi to binge watch your favorite show.

Yes, there are power outlets onboard FlixBus buses. You can generally find one or two sockets per row of seats, so be a good traveller and check if your seat neighbor might want to charge up their devices as well. With the onboard power outlets, you can charge both a computer and USB devices with a USB power adapter that typically comes with most phones and tablets.

Since FlixBus might sometimes use replacement bus vehicles, not all trips are guaranteed to have power points. We recommend to bring a power bank to charge your phone for all trips over 2 hours, just in case.

On a typical day, FlixBus has 70317 scheduled bus trips in total. However, the exact departure and arrival times vary depending on the day and route. The best way to find the exact schedule for your trip is to use the search tool on this page.

Yes, as long is there room on the bus, you can buy a ticket at the bus from the driver. Though it's worth noting that the price will be significantly higher than buy the same ticket online ahead of time.

FlixBus offers meal service during your trip with them. If you require a meal with special dietary restrictions, we suggest you contact FlixBus customer service directly to see if one can be arranged to meet your needs. Don’t worry about being parched while traveling with FlixBus as they offer a beverage service to make sure you stay hydrated. Though we always recommend bringing a reusable water bottle with you to make sure you have water within easy reach and help reduce unnecessary plastic waste.

FlixBus does not require a printed ticket to board the bus. Instead, an eTicket is sent to you by email when you make your reservation. You can use your smartphone to show this eTicket to the ticketing agent as you board.

FlixBus goes the extra distance to deliver premium features to its customers.

Do you find yourself squished in a regular seat or just love having extra room to sprawl out? Well you’re in luck as FlixBus offers extra legroom seating. Since there is no standard of what extra legroom is, the extra space you get may vary between bus lines, but getting extra is always good.
