Search coach tickets to Las Vegas

People say that Las Vegas is a Disneyland for adults and they have a point – with more than 50 casinos and dozens of nightclubs in the Strip area alone, Vegas is the place where you can let loose and have some good old fun.

Why travel the globe when you can see some of the most iconic landmarks in the world right there next to each other on the Las Vegas Strip? Just by walking down the street, you can visit the Eiffel Tower (at the Paris Hotel), check out the Statue of Liberty (at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino), or go for a gondola ride down the canals of Venice (at the Venetian Resort).

Yes, the many gambling opportunities attract millions of visitors to Sin City every year, but it’s the unique shows and concert residencies that have made Las Vegas one of the key entertainment destinations in the world. While you can certainly relax by the pool during the day, Vegas is definitely not a holiday destination if you’re looking for peace and quiet. When you’re in Las Vegas, you better be ready to hit the town, and if you’re lucky – the jackpot!

Based on customers’ travel reviews, travellers who booked on Wanderu rave about travelling to Las Vegas by coach with Salt Lake Express, giving it a 5 rating out of 5.

Once you arrive in Las Vegas, it’s fortunately very easy to get around the city with or without your own vehicle.

Public Transit

As far as local buses in Las Vegas go, there are two main options that serve the area: the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, known locally as the RTC, and the Strip & Downtown Express (the SDX).

The RTC operates over 30 routes throughout the Las Vegas metro, including the popular “Deuce,” double-decker coaches completely decked out (pun intended!) Vegas-style. Deuce on The Strip runs along The Strip 24 hours a day, with stops at most resorts between downtown and Mandalay Bay. DVX, or the Downtown & Veterans Medical Center Express, covers part of downtown and popular Fremont Street.

The SDX connects popular Las Vegas destinations including The Strip, downtown, and the convention centre. As its name implies, service on the SDX is “express,” meaning it’s more like train service, with fewer stops and daily service from 9:00am to midnight.

Another great transit option along The Strip is the Las Vegas Monorail. The elevated train speeds along a 3.9-mile stretch of The Strip, eliminating the inconvenience of traffic. There are seven stations between the MGM Grand and The Sahara, and trains stop every four to eight minutes every day from 7:00am to at least midnight (3:00am Friday through Sunday).

The Regional Transportation Commission offers a RTC Bike Share in addition to other transit methods. This unique model allows passengers to get off at designated stops downtown and pick up a bicycle from one of 21 bike share kiosks.

Local Shuttles

Las Vegas also runs a couple of shuttles. Best of all, one of them is FREE! The Downtown Loop serves most of Vegas’ hottest destinations, running from The Strat through Brewery Row and The Arts District, Fremont Street Experience, Mob Museum, and Las Vegas North Premium Outlets. The shuttle runs Monday through Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm and Friday and Saturday from 3:00pm to 10:00pm.

Rideshare Apps & Taxis

Both Uber and Lyft are quite popular in Las Vegas, with plenty of drivers available at all times of day. Especially if you’re anywhere along The Strip or downtown, it’s rare to wait more than a few minutes for a driver to pick you up.

As an alternative to rideshare, taxis are another great transport option. Unlike other major cities such as New York, you can’t simply hail a taxi from the street. The city has strict rules stating that taxis must only pick up passengers at a physical address. Because of this, “taxi lines” are a common sight at hotels and the airport.

Rental Cars

If you’d prefer to have unlimited access to your own vehicle, perhaps to explore some of the amazing sights just outside of Las Vegas, you can hire a car. While there are several car hire locations sprinkled throughout the city, by far the most convenient is the Rent-a-Car Center at the airport. There are 10 car hire companies here, it’s open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you can take a free car hire shuttle from any of the airport terminals.

Wanderu offers some of the best car hire options, where you can compare cars from all car hire companies to find the best deal.

The Strip

One of the most recognizable city blocks in the world, The Strip should be at the top of any Las Vegas itinerary. Aside from iconic casinos including the MGM Grand, Luxor, and The Mirage, you’ll find a dizzying number of restaurants, museums, nightclubs, and performance venues on this 2.5-mile stretch.

Grand Canal at the Venetian Casino Resort

Venice, Italy, is world-famous for its canal system and the iconic gondolas used to travel them. You don’t need a passport to see this incredible sight, though — just head to the Venetian! Book a gondola ride through the Grand Canal, guided by a costumed gondolier, and enjoy the postcard-perfect scenery.

Fountains at the Bellagio

The elaborate dancing fountains are a must-see when you’re in Las Vegas! Stop by day or night to watch the impeccably choreographed display, which involves lights and music and often follows a seasonal or holiday theme.

Cirque du Soleil

Vegas’ event calendar is filled to the brim with incredible performances and concerts year-round. The world-famous Cirque du Soleil has 6 exclusive shows you can only see in Las Vegas. From the water-themed “O” to cabaret-style “Zumanity” and several other shows, a Cirque du Soleil performance tantalizes all the senses.

Arts District

Adjacent to The Strip, Las Vegas’ Arts District offers a nice change of pace from the glittery neon and constant go-go-go. You’ll find an abundance of interesting antique and thrift shops, cafes, breweries, and of course, art galleries.
