Freiburg im Breisgau, commonly called Freiburg, is a large city in the Baden-Wurttemberg state in the south of Germany. Sitting on the edge of the Black Forest, this city is home to one of Germany's oldest universities and a large Gothic-style cathedral in its reconstructed medieval old town.

Memmingen is a small Bavarian city that often serves as a gateway for travellers headed to the Bavarian Alps or Lake Constance. The city's founding dates back to the days of the Roman Empire, and many ruins of ancient structures are scattered throughout the city. The old town quarter is among the most popular attractions in Memmingen. It features many Baroque houses festooned with spiral details, unique rooflines, and other playful architectural elements.
